The Lord was with Joseph. Our faith does not stop us from being tempted.
(e) Temptation comes every day. v10. day by day

We dare not underestimate temptation.
Society treats sin lightly but Joseph would teach us something different.
(a) To yield to temptation is to go against others. v8,9
(b) To yield to temptation is to go against what is right. v9
"a great wickedness"
(c) To yield to temptation is to go against God. v9 " sin
against God"
3.
We can overcome temptation.
We cannot stop the train of temptation coming into our station but we
can refuse to travel on it.
How
can we overcome temptation?
(a) take Practical advice from Joseph's experience.
He said "No". see Proverbs 1:10.
He avoided Potiphar's wife as much as possible.
He
refused "to be with her." V10 and he kept himself busy. v11.
King David's idleness let him to adultery and more.
He ran away. v12.
(b) depend on the Powerful help available to us
Acts 7:10. "God was with him and rescued him from all his troubles."
See
also 2Peter 2:9; 1 Cor. 10:13,14; Hebrews 2:18.
(c)
recognise that God has a Purpose in testing us see James 1:12.
